The Government of Japan has formalised an agreement with the Government of Vanuatu to fund 700 million Japanese Yen (approximately VT600 million) for Vanuatu’s Fisheries Research Vessel project.

The Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries and Biosecurity (MALFFB), Mr Timothy Tumukon and the Executive Director for Regenerative Vanua, Mr Jerry Spooner ,signed a Memorandum of Agreement on the 3rd of November 2024, which officially formalises the required partnership enabled through a Council of Ministers decision for the purpose of ensuring the head administration of Regenerative Vanua as the Secretariat of the Global Agritourism Network Pacific Region is properly established and supported in Vanuatu.
