Director for the Department of Agriculture & Rural Development Antoine Ravo delivering Vanuatu’s statement on 5th of November 2024 during the opening of the Pacific SIDS Solution forum in Fiji.
In its call to international partners, governments, civil society organizations, and the private sector, Vanuatu emphasizes the importance of holistic, innovative approaches focusing on a sustainable future. The nation believes that by working together—through collaborative Public Private Partnership (PPP) and shared knowledge—the Pacific Islands can accelerate resilient communities and secure a prosperous future for generations to come.
Vanuatu's participation in the Pacific SIDS Solution Forum 2024 provides an opportunity for a collective reimagining of the Pacific's agricultural and sustainable Agrifood Systems Transformation. As the region faces growing challenges globally from a plethora of issues, climate change is a problem that cannot be overlooked. Vanuatu’s vision is clear: only through collaboration, innovation and respect for traditional knowledge can we build a sustainable, resilient future for all Pacific peoples.
The delegation from Vanuatu looks forward to meaningful dialogue and Partnership that will drive the Pacific towards a prosperous, sustainable, and healthy future.
